Some come for the iconic landmarks they've seen on television or in the movies. Others come for the city's rich history, its architecture, or the food that gives New York its unique flavor. And then there are those who keep it on their bucket list, waiting for the moment when everything finally lines up to book that flight. Whatever brings you here, Gotham Girl brings New York to you — one story, documented and mailed, every month. You're not reading about where I went. We're going together.

The letter is the heart of every adventure. Everything else is a keepsake inspired by where we went that month—something chosen to bring the story a little closer and give you a piece of the experience to keep.

You won’t know exactly what’s inside until it arrives. That’s part of the adventure.

The itinerary

I'm not telling you.

That's the whole point.

One month, it's a subway station that closed in 1945 and still has its chandeliers. The next, it's a deli that's been slicing the same pastrami since before your grandparents met. Then, a flea market in Brooklyn where the good stuff is gone by nine, a garden hidden behind a church, a bakery with a line down the block and a very good reason for it. A ferry at the one hour of the day when the light does something to the skyline, a parade you didn't know existed, a shop that's been on the same corner since 1927.

Something wonderfully ridiculous that could only exist here.

Not everything in New York makes the cut. Only what's worth telling someone about.

A letter from me about that month's adventure, a 4x6 collectible card for the place, a keepsake from the trip, and a hint about next month. The letter is the constant. The keepsakes change with the destination, and that's on purpose. There's no need to repeat an adventure in a city that never sleeps.
Every envelope goes in the mail on the 1st of the month, postmarked New York. Join by the last day of the month and the next month's adventure is yours. Most US addresses see it within two to ten business days. Outside the US, allow two to six weeks.
$11 a month. Six months is $54.96, so one month is free. A year is $99, so three months are free. US shipping is included. Outside the US?
